Age of Innocence - Quotes about the Inner Child
“I am convinced that most people do not grow up...We marry and dare to have children and call that growing up. I think what we do is mostly grow old. We carry accumulation of years in our bodies, and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are innocent and shy as magnolias.” Maya Angelou
Summer Lullaby
“The most sophisticated people I know - inside they are all children. ” Jim Henson
“In their innocence, very young children know themselves to be light and love. If we will allow them, they can teach us to see ourselves the same way. ” Michael Jackson
“For in every adult there dwells the child that was, and in every child there lies the adult that will be.” John Connolly
My inner child saved me. The curious one who wanted to connect, share, provoke, and entertain. She knew what was good for me and bad for me long before dangerous parts of life invited me to play. She innately knew the difference between pain and suffering before anyone observed it's the squeaky wheel that gets oiled. My inner child still collaborates with your ideas long after they've been written down. What a fascinating time to still be growing up! You are an absolute treasure to my heart, mind and soul and I don't tell you enough how much you've inspired me over the years.
